September 29 was the last day of the Cologne 2026 Major Shop. Every team and autograph sticker from that event now has a fixed supply. If you missed the window, the only place to get one is another player's inventory.
That's the newest entry on a list that started in 2014 with one wolf-themed rifle. Some CS2 items left the game by accident. Others were built to leave, and since the Armory arrived in October 2024, Valve has been retiring items on something close to a schedule.
Here's what the game no longer hands out, and what each exit means if you collect.
What "Gone" Means in CS2
Almost nothing in CS2 gets deleted. Old items stay tradable and keep showing up on the market. What stops is new supply.
An item counts as gone once no case, drop, Armory slot or shop creates fresh copies. From then on, every copy that will ever exist is already sitting in someone's inventory.
Items reach that point in a few ways:
Valve pulls them over a legal problem and promises never to make them again.
An Armory item or collection rotates out.
A Major sticker shop closes after the event.
The Original: M4A4 | Howl
The Howl shipped in the Huntsman Weapon Case on May 1, 2014. About six weeks later, Valve received a takedown notice under the DMCA claiming the wolf artwork wasn't the contributors' own work.
In its June 11, 2014 announcement, Valve banned both contributors, swapped the design for one drawn by the CS:GO team and revised the case. Then came the line collectors still quote: the items "will never be produced again, and have been assigned the 'Contraband' rarity."
The same notice covered the Howling Dawn sticker. That's why the game has two Contraband items, and only one of them is a gun.
Twelve years on, the M4A4 | Howl lists at about $4,070 in Field-Tested and around $6,600 in Factory New on Skins Wiki.
It belongs to no collection, so no trade-up can produce one, and no container holds it. The count has been frozen since June 2014. It's the cleanest case of "can't get anymore" in CS2, and nobody planned it. The rarity came out of a copyright mess.

The Armory turned scarcity into a calendar. You earn credits with an Armory Pass and spend them on whatever Valve has stocked.
The stock changes, and when something leaves, Valve usually mentions it in a single line of patch notes on the CS2 news page on Steam. Easy to miss if you don't read them.
Desert Eagle | Heat Treated
The Heat Treated Deagle launched with the Armory on October 2, 2024, as its limited item. On January 15, 2025, the patch notes said it was "no longer available to claim from The Armory."
That's about three and a half months on the shelf. The limited slot has since cycled through the XM1014 | Solitude in March 2025, the M4A1-S | Solitude in August 2025 and the AK-47 | Aphrodite in January 2026. If you care more about how these guns play than what they're worth, our CS2 weapon tier list covers that side.
Gallery Case
A case can leave too. Valve posted a "last chance" notice for the Gallery Case on September 10, 2025, then removed it from the Armory on October 1, together with the Graphic Collection and the Character Craft stickers.
Train 2025 and Sport & Field
The latest cut came with the July 8, 2026 update. The Train 2025 and Sport & Field weapon collections, plus the Sugarface 2 and Elemental Craft sticker collections, are "no longer available in the Armory."
Weapon collections keep one back door. Trade-up contracts still work with them, so higher-grade skins from those sets can keep appearing as players feed in the lower grades. Sticker collections don't get that option.
Major Stickers Without Capsules
For more than a decade, Major stickers came in capsules. You bought a sealed capsule and opened it hoping for a holo of your favorite player.
Cologne 2026 ended that. In the May 22 announcement for the event on the official Counter-Strike site, Valve replaced capsules with tokens you redeem for the exact sticker you want, at prices set by demand. Its reasons: some players would rather buy stickers directly, and "players in certain regions cannot purchase sticker capsules."
The pricing didn't survive the summer. On July 29, Valve wrote that the dynamic system "didn't produce reasonable prices" and added a cheaper Ranked Series with each team's final placing in the design.
Souvenirs changed as well. The Souvenir-O-Matic let you turn a weapon you already owned into a Souvenir with gold team, autograph and map stickers.
Then, on September 29, the shop closed, a little over four months after it opened. Old capsules from earlier Majors still trade on the Steam Market, but Valve called tokens one of the "alternatives" it is exploring.
A Jackass Sticker Capsule did ship in July, yet nothing Valve has posted since says Major capsules are coming back. That matters beyond collecting, since sticker sales are one of the ways CS2 teams make money from a Major.
The Newest Weapon Case Is From March 2025
Cases get the most doom talk, and most of it overshoots. The Fever Case, added on March 31, 2025, is still the newest weapon case in CS2, but new skins haven't stopped.
Valve now ships them through terminals:
The Genesis Collection arrived via Genesis Uplink Terminals in September 2025.
The Dead Hand Collection, with 22 new gloves, came via Dead Hand Terminals on March 11, 2026.
Both show up as weekly drops.
More is on the way, at some point. On July 16, Valve opened another call on the CS2 Steam Workshop for a Fairy Tales weapon collection and two sticker collections, with no release date attached.
Last time, the winning designs went straight into the Armory. If this batch follows, it will face the same rotation sooner or later.
What to Watch at PGL Major Singapore
The next window opens at the PGL Major Singapore, which starts November 25. Team lists and the event schedule are on Liquipedia.
At the time of writing, Valve hasn't said how the Singapore stickers will be sold or for how long. If it's another token shop with a closing date, that date is the deadline for anyone who wants their team's holo without paying a reseller.
