The Ultimate Way to Optimize Your Genshin Character Build
Genshin Impact is a popular free-to-play action RPG that is driven by its open world gameplay and the number of characters you can get. There are many popular characters of various types, such as Hu Tao, Ayaka, Xiangling, Childe, Eula, Fischl, and more.
You get to form teams of four, but choosing the right team comp and also applying the right build for each character takes a lot of time. You might find yourself pressed for time to complete everything. For build optimization challenges, we have various tools at our disposal, like the Genshin optimizer.
How a Genshin Impact Optimizer Provides Efficiency
The biggest factor in building your Genshin characters is in choosing the artifacts to equip, especially when evaluating new artifacts from domains. But with so many artifacts to choose from, manually testing each build for every character you have will take too long.
An optimizer allows you to set certain parameters, such as atk, DMG, crit rate and crit dmg for DPS, and the Genshin optimizer will determine which set of artifacts in your inventory will combine for the best possible loadout. This may not seem like such a big deal, but for Genshin veterans with over a thousand artifacts in their inventory, the Genshin optimizer works like a calculator that instantly finds optimal combinations.
A character has 5 artifact slots, and the optimizer scanner evaluates all possible combinations across these positions. Let's say that you have a hundred artifacts for each slot. Choosing which artifacts to equip and then testing that set in battle would take some time. Even if you could finish each character's damage per second calculation in 5 minutes, there's not enough time in a day to finish, and that's just one character's worth of testing. The Genshin optimizer can finish that same task in minutes. Beyond raw artifact count, each combination requires calculating stat interactions like how elemental mastery affects vaporize damage multipliers. These multiplicative effects compound across substats, set bonuses, and character talents, creating millions of potential calculations.
Head on over to use Genshin optimizer at igitems and test it out for yourself. There are tools for other games as well, so make sure to check out their pages.
Using the Genshin Impact Optimizer Is Easy and Convenient
Set the characters you want to use as the optimization target and input each character's main stats and substats accurately, including their ascension level, constellation status, and talents tab configuration. This will be the first tab on the optimizer UI.
The second tab is where you configure your weapons. This time, input all weapons and artifacts you're looking to try out for your characters, from Mistsplitter to Favonius weapons, by manually entering stats like energy recharge, attack damage, and elemental damage bonus (including pyro dmg bonus for fire-based builds) or importing a json file, helping the planner generate targeted build recommendations.
The third tab is where you enter each artifact set you want included in the optimization process. This one will likely take the most work, and it's best to take screenshots of those artifacts (including 4pc sets like VV) rather than switching between the in-game screen and the tool.
On the last tab, the optimizer's simulator runs the optimization process. Select which character you want to go through optimization, along with their chosen weapon, and toggle any external buffs or conditional passives (like vape reactions, ult damage, snapshot mechanics, proc timing, or charged attacks scaling) that affect their character damage output, including off-field damage sources such as blossom damage. It may take longer depending on how many artifacts the tool needs to simulate for optimal combinations.
