Respeccing doesn’t actually cost money; it’s more like you’re losing a portion of it for each Respec. And while that means you won’t run out of cash from Respec alone, it also means you have less of it each time you do, making it a sort of expense. Dying carries the same penalty.
Boss farming is a big part of Borderlands 4 since you’ll be hunting for the best gear, and Moxxi’s Encore Machine is how you do it. In repeating boss fights, you’re in it for the long haul, and since it costs money to rerun each time, expect to spend most of your money here.
Gambling was a big part of what made the Borderlands franchise fun, just as it did for many other game titles. In Borderlands 3, it was the slot machine that got players to spend a lot of their time and in-game money for some fun, along with the chance to win various items.
