Our Wuthering Waves character tier list ranks every resonator in Version , from S-tier carries to D-tier bench warmers. Updated for September 2026 meta.

Last updated:

Patch 3.2 heralded the arrival of Sigrika and a new mechanic while also reshaping Aero's place in the game meta, shifting character rankings across the game's tier lists. Find the best picks among the game's growing Wuthering Waves characters roster and spare yourself the agony of spending your Astrites on the wrong units.

How Wuthering Waves Resonators are Ranked

Characters are assessed using five factors: Endstate Matrix and Tower of Adversity raw damage output, team synergy across popular team compositions, ease of building, versatility across different content, and how each resonator fares after the latest balance changes. Both solo carry and team uplift performance are considered.

Meta Overview

The current meta is defined by a strong S tier of six resonators who dominate damage-dealing roles, while A tier offers surprising depth with ten solid options. Brant and Phoebe lead an aggressive offensive landscape, and stalwart supports like Shorekeeper and Phrolova remain essential anchors in virtually every high-performing team composition.

S Tier

S tier resonators either define entire team archetypes or demonstrate exceptional versatility that makes them must-haves across all content types.

  • Brant stands at the forefront of the current meta, delivering elite damage output with flexible team integration that few can rival.
  • Phoebe brings a uniquely potent offensive kit that generates powerful synergistic opportunities and consistently high damage across diverse compositions.
  • Cantarella offers exceptional sustained pressure paired with mechanics that reward skilled play and elevate surrounding teammates.
  • Zani carves out a dominant niche through outstanding burst potential and seamless adaptability to multiple team archetypes.
  • Carlotta provides reliable, high-ceiling damage with versatile mechanics that slot naturally into both dedicated and hybrid compositions.
  • Camellya rounds out this elite tier with a specialized but formidable kit, excelling in focused team structures while retaining broad competitive applicability.

A Tier

A tier resonators are strong, well-rounded picks who perform admirably across most content, even if they lack the ceiling of S tier options.

  • Phrolova and Lynae serve as premier support anchors, bringing irreplaceable utility that underpins many top-performing compositions.
  • Luuk Herssen and Chisa deliver consistent offensive pressure with versatile mechanics that integrate naturally into multiple archetypes.
  • Hiyuki offers a specialized damage kit that excels in focused compositions while retaining meaningful broader applicability.
  • Shorekeeper remains a top-tier healing anchor whose presence meaningfully elevates virtually any team she joins.
  • Ciaccona, Jiyan, Jinhsi, and Xiangli Yao round out this tier as reliable damage dealers and enablers with proven track records across varied content.

B Tier

B tier resonators are serviceable picks who can perform well in the right compositions but face meaningful competition from higher-tier alternatives.

  • Qiuyuan, The Shorekeeper, Denia, and Iuno provide niche support or hybrid utility that can shine in tailored team structures.
  • Lucilla and Galbrena offer steady contributions but lack the raw ceiling needed to compete at the highest level consistently.
  • Zhezhi, Calcharo, Yinlin, and Lingyang round out the tier as damage dealers whose kits have become increasingly outpaced by the evolving meta.

C Tier

C tier is occupied solely by Mortefi, a resonator whose kit struggles to keep pace with the current meta's demands. While Mortefi can still contribute in casual content or highly specific niche compositions, the lack of competitive damage output and limited synergy options make it difficult to justify a slot in optimized teams when stronger alternatives are readily available.

D Tier

D tier contains Yuanwu and Taoqi, two resonators whose kits have been largely left behind by the evolving meta. Both offer minimal competitive value in current content, with restrictive mechanics and low damage ceilings that make them difficult to recommend outside of casual play or personal preference runs.

Version 3.2 and the Future

Players who invested in Aero and Fusion team comps were highly rewarded in 3.2, and Kuro Games seems intent on establishing Echo Skill DMG for the next game meta. All that said, you can't go wrong with investing your Astrites in any S-tier resonator.

But if you'd rather not waste time grinding and relying on luck, browse the best WuWa accounts on igitems and find the best ones with stacked rosters for any challenge. We'll update this list once 3.3 comes around, so check back then.
