Clash of Clans Super Troops Tier List

If you ask most Clash of Clans players what sets the game apart from the rest, they'll probably say Super Troops! These upgraded versions of regular troops bring a totally new game plan to attacks and defences in CoC, allowing players to experiment with completely new strategies.

But which Super Troop is best? With so many to choose from, this blog post will provide a tier list into which are the most powerful, versatile, and worth buying.

What Are Super Troops?

Before we kick things off, knowing what super troops are is important. Super Troops are basically upgraded versions of normal troops with unique abilities and increased stats. Unlocking a Super Troop requires a Town Hall level of 11 or higher and the use of a Dark Elixir or a Super Potion. Don't know what these are? No problem, they're unlocked after some time has been sunk into the game.

Super Troops are available for a limited time once activated (usually for seven days), and during this time, players can use them in-game modes such as Clan Wars, and Clan Games.

Criteria for Ranking

To create a complete and accurate tier list, we considered the below criteria:

  • The raw power in battle.
  • The resource and time investment required to unlock.
  • How well the Super Troop can support and improve other troops.
  • Performance in different game modes.

Based on the current Clash meta, we have categorized the Super Troops into five tiers: S, A, B, C, and D. The S-tier acts as the strongest Super Troops, while the D-tier includes those that are less useful. Each tier contains a detailed analysis of the troops, their strengths, weaknesses, and best use cases.

S-Tier Super Troops

Super Barbarian: The Super Barbarian has much more damage and HP compared to the regular Barbarian, making him a better option for those initial attacks and building clearouts. His rage effect also gives him an extra boost, allowing him to deal some quick damage, making him a solid pick for early-game pressure and funnelling strategies.

Super Archer: The Super Archer can shoot through multiple targets in a line making her incredibly useful for clearing out buildings and defences. Her range and damage output also make her a no-brainer for attack, especially in combination with other long-range units.

Sneaky Goblin: The Sneaky Goblin is fast and deals massive damage to resource buildings, making him great for farming resources. His ability to go invisible for a few seconds also allows him to bypass defences and go straight for the loot, making him one of the best troops for resource raids, especially in higher leagues where loot is heavily guarded.

Super Bowler: The Super Bowler throws massive boulders that deal AoE splash damage. His attacks can devastate enemy bases by hitting multiple buildings at once, making him a great pick in any attack strat.

A-Tier Super Troops

Super Wall Breaker: The Super Wall Breaker is a great choice for breaking through tough enemy defences. With its extra damage and ability to break through walls quickly, this troop is a great choice for any attack. Its explosive power also makes it a brilliant pick in regular attacks and Clan Wars, where quick access to the enemy's core can win games with ease.

Rocket Loon: The Rocket Loon combines the power of a Balloon with speed and a first-strike ability, making it a great choice for speedy air strategies.

Super Wizard: The Super Wizard deals splash damage with his attacks, making him useful against groups of enemy troops and buildings. His ability to chain lightning to multiple targets also adds an extra layer of damage, making him a great choice for both offence and defence.

Super Minion: The Super Minion is a great choice because of its long-range attacks and increased damage, perfect for sniping out defences from a distance, making it a great pick in both offensive and defensive strategies.

Super Hog Rider: The Super Hog Rider has increased HP and damage, allowing him to target defences easily. His powerful leap over walls also gives him an edge when running through enemy bases. While the Super Hog Rider excels in specific attack comps, his overall impact isn't as good as higher-tier Super Troops.

B-Tier Super Troops

Super Dragon: This dragon has increased damage and hit points, the Super Dragon can easily destroy enemy bases and its ability to deal with splash damage makes it useful against clustered defences and enemy troops. This troop is particularly good in Clan Wars, where its power can impact key battles. However, its high cost and slower speed place it in the B tier.

Super Witch: The Super Witch is known for summoning the Big Boy, a huge skeleton with massive hit points and damage. This makes her a great choice when tanking heavy damage while dealing blows to enemy defences. While powerful, her high cost and specific use cases place her in the B-tier.

C-Tier Super Troops

Inferno Dragon: The Inferno Dragon has the potential to deal massive single-target damage, making it a brilliant choice against high-hit point defences and enemy heroes. However, its slow ramp-up time and vulnerability to air defences limit its usefulness placing it in C tier.

Ice Hound: The Ice Hound acts similarly to the Lava Hound but with the added ability to freeze defences upon death. This can provide some strategy in certain attack scenarios, but its overall utility could be improved compared to other Super Troops.

D-Tier Super Troops

Super Giant: The Super Giant boasts increased hit points and damage, making him an excellent tank for absorbing damage while other troops deal damage from behind. However, his high cost and limited utility in higher-level strategies prevent him from ranking higher.

Super Valkyrie: The Super Valkyrie delivers a powerful spin attack that deals splash damage to nearby enemies and buildings. While she can be great in certain attack strategies, her high cost and situational usefulness prevent her from ranking higher.

Super Miner: The Super Miner has increased hit points and damage, with the ability to burrow underground to avoid attacks. However, his effectiveness is limited compared to other Super Troops due to his slow speed and high cost.
