Hero Siege is a top-down action role-playing game with rogue-like elements, developed and published by Panic Art Studios in 2013. The player controls one of 17 different classes of characters, each with its unique abilities. The game's objective is to progress through randomly generated levels, defeating waves of enemies and bosses. The game features an online cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players. The gameplay of Hero Siege revolves around cooperation and class-based combat, and players must work together to defeat waves of enemies and bosses. In order to progress through the game, players must use each class's unique abilities, collect loot, and upgrade their characters.
Hero Siege offers an extensive and deep gameplay experience with a variety of character classes, including Viking, Pyromancer, Marksman, Nomad, Redneck, Pirate, Necromancer, Samurai, Paladin, Amazon, Demonspawn, Demon Slayer, Shaman, White Mage, Marauder, Plague Doctor, Shield Lancer, Illusionist, and Jötunn. Depending on your preferences, you can play as either melee fighters or range specialists. Every class comes with completely two whole different skill trees containing many builds options for you. It is fun to find out what works best for your desired type of adventure within Tarethiel's world history.
Hero Siege also features multiplayer, using the same classes that Single Player uses. However, you won't be able to use your single-player character in multiplayer game mode. Instead, you will have to make new characters for the multiplayer.
There are eighteen single-player slots and eighteen multiplayer character slots available. After you fill all these slots, no further characters can be created before an old one is deleted. Single-player slots can't hold multiplayer characters, and vice versa.
Monsters throughout the game drop different equipment in different Rarities, including Common, Mythic, Satanic, Satanic Sets, and Angelics. Aside from damage types and resistances on some of them, the attributes are fixed. Currently, there are 11 different categories of items for players to equip: Amulets, Belts, Boots, Charms, Armor, Gloves, Helmets, Potions, Rings, Shields, and Weapons. And weapons can be divided into multiple sub-categories: Melee, Spell, Bows, Claws, Javelins, Guns, Chainsaws, Flasks, and Lances.
There are many different ways to create and upgrade your Runeword. The first step is finding the perfect base item for it. Then a Runeword can be created by socketing runes into an appropriate base piece of gear with a minimum item level of 100. This process will take some time so keep track of how many sockets each Runeword requires! You could also use Tokens or Rubies to upgrade your Runewords to a max level of 10.
Relics are a type of item that can be found randomly in the world and stored inside your Relic inventory. You lose all relics if you die, but each time a player collects one for themself, that relic will take on one of the 32 total relic slots - at which point no more will be found again. There are four types of relics: Active/Usable Relics, Orbitable Relics, Stat Relics, and On hit/On attack Relics, which mostly grant you bonus stats or special effects. Relics can be a bit difficult to farm as they have no fixed spawn location.
Leveling in Hero Siege can be both a chore and a pleasure simultaneously, depending on how you look at it. Hero Siege's leveling system has improved over previous versions of the game. Unlike before, players no longer need to endlessly grind in order to reach level 100 - instead, they can choose to play from normal mode to nightmare mode and work their way up through each difficulty level by fighting against boss enemies at corresponding stages. But this also means they must beat the final boss Satan in Act 6: Satan. It is important not to fight enemies too far above or below 20 levels than yourself because you will gain no experience from battling them.
The fun of the endgame begins when you hit the sweet level 100. You should have hopefully unlocked the Hell difficulty by then and are ready to start farming for Satanics! These items appear with a red name and glowing aura around them and appear on your map as red stars. However, before you start farming, you should level your mining to 500 or even max it out, which may provide some relief by providing you ruby and jade ores that can either be traded or used to craft Satanics. The reason to do so is that the drop rate of Satanics is not guaranteed, and sometimes, it can take many hero levels to get one.
After reaching level 100, your goal should be to max out mining and get a Satanic piece of gear (upgrade to level 10) in every slot with the highest possible quality. You can achieve this by using reroll tokens and satanic dice on any piece of gear that needs improvement.
