You'll Need
- Microsoft account (A Mojang account can no longer redeem codes)
- 25-character Minecraft code
- Preferred browser
Step-by-step
- Open a web browser of your choice on either a desktop or a mobile.
- Head to Microsoft's redemption page.
- Sign in and authenticate your Microsoft account.
- Find the text field under the "Redemption Code"
- Enter (or paste) your code, then click the Redeem button.
- Select the desired edition and proceed by clicking Install
Troubleshooting
The code has already been redeemed.
Make sure you’re logged in to the account that used the code, and in Order History, check whether the game is listed for that account.
Region blocked
Check your account’s country settings and make sure they match your home country.
10-digit Xbox or Marketplace promo
This format code goes to Xbox’s Redemption Card Page instead of the Minecraft website.
Child account rejected
In "Family Organizer", a parent must approve a child on the Family Safety. This is so that a Microsoft Family child can redeem.
FAQ
Does the old Mojang account login still work?
No, migration from Mojang to Microsoft stopped on the 19th September 19, 2023. Microsoft accounts are used to redeem codes.
Is this for Java, Bedrock, or both?
This redemption unlocks both editions on one account.
Can I redeem console Bedrock here?
Redeem only on the appropriate platform (Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch) because licenses are purchased directly from their store.
